"One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This......" . Har det bland rockers noterats detta?????
New York Dolls existerar, igen.....
Det var Morrisey som fixade så det vart av...Morrissey organized a reunion of the three surviving band members of New York Dolls (Johansen, Sylvain, and Kane) for the Meltdown Festival in 2004. It was extremely well-received, producing a live LP and DVD on Morrissey's Attack label, and a film, New York Doll, showing Kane's point of view of the genesis of the reunion contrasted against the backdrop of his conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, future plans were impacted when the news came of Arthur Kane's unexpected death on July 13, 2004 from leukemia.
NYD, hårt band att medverka i, Sylvain Sylvain och David Johansen kvar....
In July 2005, it was announced the two surviving members would tour and produce a new album, recently confirmed to be titled One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This, released on July 25, 2006 featuring guitarist Steve Conte, bassist Sami Yaffa (formerly of Hanoi Rocks), drummer Brian Delaney and keyboardist Brian Koonin.
On July 20th 2006, the New York Dolls appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, followed by a live performance in Philadelphia at the WXPN All About The Music Festival, and on July 22nd 2006, a taped appearance on The Henry Rollins Show.
Kokokoko.... Men ju mer jag läser och desto mer ord jag stoppar in i skallen desto klokare blir jag och New York Dolls i vilken skepnad som helst måste vara rock'n'roll.......;-)
And so we move forward. “This is phase two,” Johansen says. “It's a new band. A whole new thing.” Purist fans may scoff that it's not the Dolls without Johnny, Jerry and Arthur, but both Johansen and Sylvain insist that bassist Sammi Yaffa, guitarist Steve Conte, keyboardist Brian Koonin and drummer Brian Delaney are indeed Dolls now. “We didn't set out to replace anyone,” Sylvain reminds us. We're talking about the deceased here, not the dismissed, after all. “They're great guys,” Johansen assures those who may be in doubt, “They're part of every aspect of everything. That's what being in a band is all about. I've got them all psychoanalyzed. Very interesting subjects.”
Is the world really ready for The New York Dolls 2006? “I don't care if this record is a hit,” Sylvain assures, “Just as long as every man, woman and child buys it........”
