The Montreal Canadiens announced the signing of Saku Koivu for the 2005-06 season. The Canadiens' first round selection, 21st overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Koivu played in 497 career regular season games with the Canadiens, and totalled 398 points. He also registered 34 points in 40 playoff games.
